About Bible Readathons

Bible Readathons have been conducted on the steps of our nation’s capitol building in Washington D.C. every year since 1990 and was established by Dr. John Hash and Dr. Corinthia Boone.  (See their web site: www.capitolbrm.org)

Readathons have been conducted in places all across the US including state capitols, school campuses, city parks and churches.

WHAT

A Bible Readathon is 90 continuous hours of reading the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation without commentary.  Up to 350 people can participate.  Readers may read for 15 minute intervals.

WHO

Anyone who would like to read God’s Word publicly is invited to participate. Children! Teenagers! Pastors! Politicians! Snowbirds!  Anyone can participate.  Reading is done round the clock so time slots are available day and night.

WHY

We read His Holy Word publicly to honor God and share His Word with residents and visitors as an act of faith that God will accomplish what He would like to do in the city.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

–  Isaiah 55:11
